It serves as a performing arts center for the town. There is also an excellent town art gallery, which exhibits the work of local artists. Shopping and dining is of a very high standard. There are several familiar stores, such as Costco, Wal-Mart, Staples and Macy's, in addition to independent outlets in the shopping malls. Antioch California has a mixture of fast food and the best in fine dining. This likeable town has become a dormitory town for people living in Oakland and San Francisco, who want a good quality of life. For many people, other Bay Area residential districts are too expensive to consider buying into property. Antioch California has a friendly small town atmosphere and responsible town planning policy.
